Audio
The amber cable carries what you hear. Oscillator → Filter → Output is already a working patch.
Modular · a modular synth in your browser
Start with an oscillator, add a filter, and connect them to Output. Then bring in a beat, an echo, or an LFO that moves a control for you. Hear every change as you make it, record the result, and save your patch with a link — all in your browser.

01 / SIGNAL FLOW
The color tells you whether you are connecting sound, a changing control, or a command to play.
The amber cable carries what you hear. Oscillator → Filter → Output is already a working patch.
The teal cable changes a setting for you: an LFO sweeps a filter, an envelope shapes volume.
The pink cable says when to play. Clock counts the steps; Keyboard sends notes.
02 / START PATCHING
Choose Oscillator or Drone. This is where your sound begins.
Draw a cable from the source to Output. Add a Filter or Reverb between them when you are ready.
Press Listen and change one setting at a time. You will hear exactly what each module does.
Build a small chain, listen, then change one piece to make it your own.
Drone → Filter → Reverb → Output
Roll off the sharp highs with Filter, then add space with Reverb. Drone keeps playing without a keyboard.
Clock → Sequencer → Drum → Output
Clock sets the pace; Sequencer places the hits. Change one step’s probability so the pattern does not repeat exactly.
Oscillator → Filter → Output · LFO → Filter cutoff
A slow LFO moves the Filter cutoff. The same note grows brighter, then softer. Speed up the LFO and compare.
03 / MODULE REFERENCE
Pick what you want to do: make a sound, find a rhythm, add motion, or shape a mix. Each card gives you a plain-language explanation and an idea to try.
A tone, noise, a drum hit, or a sample: this is where the sound begins.
A sustained low tone from a few detuned oscillators
Send Drone through Reverb to turn a held tone into a soft bed for a melody.
A polyphonic voice with envelope and filter that plays notes
Connect Keyboard to Voice and play a few notes of different lengths.
A simple tone generator at a fixed frequency
Run Oscillator through Filter. Lower the cutoff and hear the tone change.
White, pink or brown noise for wind, rain and textures
Roll off the highs with Filter: a hiss becomes a gentle rustle.
Eight waves the Position knob glides between
Connect an LFO to Wavetable position so the tone keeps changing on its own.
Two oscillators with FM and AM plus a wavefolder — the west coast
Play from Keyboard and raise the modulation until a clear tone turns metallic.
A Karplus–Strong pluck: harp, koto, guitar — no samples
Send Sequencer notes to String for a short plucked melody.
Vowels A-E-I-O-U on one knob — a choir without samples
Hold a note and change the vowel to make the synth sound almost human.
Eight harmonics with their own levels that slowly drift
Add harmonics one by one and hear a simple tone grow richer.
Seven detuned saws spread across the stereo field
Run Supersaw through Filter to soften its broad, dense sound.
A rain of sine drops, noise grains or clicks
Add Reverb to Texture until separate grains blend into a sound bed.
A bank of resonances: any signal becomes a string, a bar or a bell
Run a short drum hit through Resonator and tune the resulting ring.
Synthesized hits: kick, snare, wood, metal
Trigger Drum with Clock and choose a sound for a steady pulse.
Plays a sample from notes: one-shot, looped or granular
Load a short sound and play a melody with it from the onscreen Keyboard.
From a steady pulse to a melody that changes a little each time.
The patch's metronome: fires triggers in time with the BPM
Connect Clock to Sequencer, then change the tempo and hear the patch speed up.
Passes every Nth trigger
Put Divider after Clock so Drum plays once every four pulses.
Passes each event with a given probability
Run Clock through Chance so some drum hits disappear at random.
Emits a random note in a range on every trigger
Trigger Random Note with Clock and hear a new melody on every pass.
Snaps any note to the nearest one in the chosen scale
Send Random Note through Quantizer so its surprises stay within a chosen scale.
Up to 32 steps in four banks; each step has velocity, length, probability and shift
Place notes on the steps, then change one step while the melody plays.
Builds a chord on every note with a slight strum
Send one note into Chord and try different intervals between its voices.
Spreads N hits over M steps as evenly as possible
Spread three hits across eight steps for an even but unexpected rhythm.
A chord sequencer that follows the degrees of a scale
Choose a few chords and loop them as the foundation of a track.
A shift register of random bits: the melody locks or mutates
Drive Turing with Clock: a short phrase repeats, then gradually changes.
Random notes with memory: repeat, replace or forget
Route notes through Déjà Vu to hear a familiar phrase return with variations.
AND, OR, XOR over two streams of triggers
Combine two rhythms with Logic so a hit occurs only when your condition is met.
A coin: every event goes either left or right
Send a pulse into Bernoulli and connect its outputs to two Drums: one path wins each time.
One trigger becomes a run of N: rolls and ratchets
Send one pulse into Burst to turn a single hit into a short roll.
Envelopes and control signals make sound change over time.
A slow wave that modulates knobs on other modules
Connect LFO to Filter cutoff so the sound alternates between bright and muted.
An envelope: attack, decay, sustain, release from a gate
Control a VCA with Envelope to give a note a sharp attack or a long fade.
Turns notes into gate, pitch and velocity as CV
Convert Keyboard notes to CV and send it to Oscillator pitch.
Fires an event when CV crosses a threshold on the way up
Turn LFO movement into triggers that can play a Drum.
Tracks the loudness of a sound and outputs it as CV
Send microphone audio to Follower so Filter responds to the volume of your voice.
Captures a CV value on each trigger and holds it
Feed Noise and Clock into Sample & Hold for random values that change in steps.
One big knob that turns many parameters at once
Link Macro to several controls and reshape the whole patch with one move.
A slow CV that travels a curve over a number of bars
Draw a slow Filter opening in Timeline to reveal the sound near the end.
Rise and fall with a shape: envelope, LFO and end-of-cycle trigger in one
Draw your own curve in Function and use it to control volume through a VCA.
Cv cannot change faster than Rise and Fall allow
Pass sudden CV jumps through Slew so Filter moves smoothly instead.
Any voltage becomes notes in a scale
Convert a moving CV signal into notes and send them to Voice: a wave becomes a melody.
Adjust tone and level, add echoes, or prepare a mix to record.
Removes highs, lows, or everything but a band around the cutoff
Lower Filter cutoff after Oscillator to take the edge off the high frequencies.
Soft clipping from warm saturation to a dense crunch
Add Overdrive to Drum and compare a dry hit with a heavier one.
Final mix processing, peak control and WAV recording
Place Mastering after Mixer and set the level before recording.
An echo with feedback, tempo-synced or free
Add Delay to a short note and set the time between its echoes.
Space: from a small room to an endless hall
Send a dry String pluck into Reverb to hear it in an imagined space.
Widens and thickens the sound, like several players at once
Add Chorus to Voice and compare its width before and after processing.
Evens out loudness; the Side input gives sidechain pumping
Run Drum through Compressor to smooth out overly loud hits.
Three bands, low, mid and high, each with its own gain
Cut muddy mids with EQ or give the low end more weight.
Moves sound left and right and controls the stereo width
Move Pan slowly from left to right to send the sound between your speakers.
One audio input, three outputs: low, mid and high
Split a mix into low and high frequencies and process each part separately.
Blend sources, switch paths, and set conditions.
An amplifier whose volume is controlled by CV
Run Oscillator through VCA and open its volume with an Envelope control signal.
Sums four audio signals into one, each with its own level
Blend Drum and Voice in Mixer, then adjust their balance.
Scales and offsets CV, and can flip its sign
Reduce an LFO with Attenuverter so the Filter moves only a little.
Blend smoothly between two audio or CV signals
Blend a dry sound with its delayed version and glide between them.
Choose A or B by hand or with CV
Connect two sources to Switch and choose which path you hear.
Add, multiply and transform audio or CV
Add the movements of two LFOs together and send the result to Filter.
A signal condition: 1 when true, otherwise 0
Set a threshold in Compare and send its CV output to a VCA: a loud voice opens the sound.
Play onscreen or with MIDI, load a file, or record your microphone.
An on-screen piano and QWERTY keys: play notes by hand
Connect Keyboard to Voice and play your first notes right on the screen.
Notes, gate, velocity, mod wheel and pitch bend from a MIDI controller
Connect a MIDI keyboard to Voice and play from physical keys.
A microphone in the patch: live sound as an audio signal
Allow microphone access and send live sound through Reverb.
A WAV or MP3 audio source: play, pause, seek and loop
Load a recording, select the part you want, and send it through an effect.
Records a few bars and cycles them, with overdubbing
Record a short phrase from the microphone, then layer another over it.
See the waveform and label the parts of your patch.
Shows the waveform or the spectrum of a signal
Connect Oscillator to Scope and compare the shapes of different waves.
Live waveform or spectrum history in a rotatable 3D view
Send a mix to 3D Scope to see how the sound changes over time.
An image, cover or visual reference on the canvas
Place an image beside your patch to remember the mood you were after.
A sticky note on the canvas: a comment, a section name, instructions
Label areas of your patch “bass”, “rhythm”, or “try later”.
This is where the sound reaches your speakers.
The way to the speakers: everything you hear passes through it
Finish the audio chain with Output so you can hear the patch.
