String
A Karplus–Strong pluck: harp, koto, guitar — no samples
Open in the synth with a demo patch Open ModularWhat it does
String is a physical model of a pluck: a short burst of noise enters a delay line with feedback, the line length sets the pitch and a filter in the loop darkens the string as it decays. Six voices, so chords and fast arpeggios do not cut off. Decay is the ring length, Bright is how much top end stays in the tail, Pluck is the hardness of the hit — from a dull finger to a hard pick.

Try this
- Turing Machine → String → dotted Delay → Reverb: an endless harp that almost repeats.
- Bright 0.3 and Pluck 0.4 — a distant muted string; 0.9 and 1 — a koto.
- Step velocity in the Sequencer becomes the pluck strength directly.
