Sampler

Plays a sample from notes: one-shot, looped or granular

Open in the synth with a demo patch Open Modular

What it does

Sampler plays a piece of sound on every incoming note, transposing it relative to the Root note. The source is a built-in bell, pad or noise, your own recording (the Record button captures up to 10 seconds from the In port or the microphone) or a file from disk. One-shot mode plays the fragment from Start to End and stops, Loop cycles it while the note is held, and Granular scatters the fragment into short grains of Grain length at Density grains per second with Spray of random spread, building a cloud in which the Pos input moves the read position. Recordings and files live only in this browser: the patch stores just their name, and on someone else's computer the sampler quietly falls back to a built-in source.
