Noise
White, pink or brown noise for wind, rain and textures
Open in the synth with a demo patch Open ModularWhat it does
Noise is a random signal containing every frequency at once. White noise is flat and hissy, pink is softer with more low end (like rain), and brown is dull and rumbling, like distant surf. On its own noise is dull, but through a filter with a moving cutoff it becomes wind, rain or breath.

Try this
- Pink noise → Filter in band-pass mode with Q 4–6 and an LFO on the cutoff: that is how you make wind.
- Run noise through a VCA and open the VCA with an ADSR from Clock 1/16 → Chance 30% to get raindrops.
- A little brown noise under a drone adds depth and the “air” of a real recording.
