Sequencer
Eight steps repeating in a loop
Open in the synth with a demo patch Open ModularWhat it does
The sequencer is an eight-step phrase played in a loop: on every trigger it moves to the next step and emits its note. Each step is an offset in semitones from the root, and any step can be switched off to make a rest. Length shortens the cycle, and driving the sequencer from a Chance or Divider stops the phrase from being predictable.

Try this
- Switch off two or three steps: rests make the phrase breathe instead of running as an endless ribbon.
- Length 7 against a Clock in a 4/4 bar means the phrase starts somewhere new every time round.
- Sequencer → Chord → Voice turns a single line into a chord progression.
