VCA
An amplifier whose volume is controlled by CV
Open in the synth with a demo patch Open ModularWhat it does
A VCA (voltage-controlled amplifier) is a volume knob turned by a signal rather than a hand. Level sets the base amount and the Gain input adds CV on top: patch an ADSR and you get a note with an envelope, patch an LFO and you get tremolo or slow waves. Level defaults to zero, so a VCA with nothing on its Gain input is silent.

- An LFO with the Smooth random shape on Gain with Level at 0.5: the volume drifts slowly and unpredictably.
