Audio In
A microphone in the patch: live sound as an audio signal
Open in the synth with a demo patch Open ModularWhat it does
Audio In takes sound from the microphone (or whichever input device the system has selected) and outputs it as an ordinary audio signal. The browser asks for permission as soon as the module appears in the patch, and the header shows whether the microphone is on. Careful with speakers: send Audio In straight to the Output and the microphone hears itself, and the patch howls with feedback. Play on headphones, or use Audio In only as a source for recording into the Sampler and for the Follower.

Try this
- Audio In → Sampler In, then Record on the Sampler: ten seconds of your voice, claps, anything nearby.
- Audio In → Follower → VCA Gain: the patch's volume follows the volume of whatever is happening in the room.
- Audio In → Filter (band-pass, Q 8) → Reverb: on headphones a voice turns into a distant bell.
