Scope

Shows the waveform or the spectrum of a signal

What it does

The scope changes nothing about the sound; it shows it. In Waveform mode you see the signal over time: a saw, a sine, the beating of two oscillators. In Spectrum mode you see it by frequency, and it is easy to watch a filter cutting the highs or a reverb filling the whole field.

Try this

Hang a Scope on a Filter output and turn the cutoff: you will see the spectrum shrink.
In Waveform mode on a three-voice Drone you can see the slow beating of the detuned oscillators.
