About this mode

Word to PDF is useful for applications, reports, notes, contracts, and study materials when the document needs a stable appearance on any device. LibreOffice preserves fonts, pages, and structure as closely as the installed fonts and input format allow.

Are PDF files uploaded to the server?

For core PDF operations, no: reading, copying pages, rotation, and output generation happen with JavaScript in your browser. For PDF ↔ Word, the file is temporarily uploaded, converted on the server, and deleted after the result is sent.

Are password-protected PDFs supported?

Password-protected and encrypted PDFs may not open. That workflow needs password input and separate server-side or WASM logic.

Does this compress PDFs?

Yes. In Compress PDF mode the tool renders pages to JPEG and builds a new document. This works well for scans, but text may become non-selectable.

Does PDF to Word OCR scanned pages?

No, this is not OCR. If the PDF has no text layer, the DOCX may keep the page as an image or have limited editable text.

PDF Tools on legost.in covers core document tasks without installing a separate app: compress PDF, merge PDF, split PDF, extract pages, rotate PDF, remove metadata, PDF to Word, and Word to PDF. It is useful for scans, contracts, forms, manuals, tickets, and study materials.

Core PDF operations run client-side through pdf-lib and pdf.js. Word conversion needs a full office engine, so PDF to DOCX and DOC/DOCX to PDF run in a temporary server directory with automatic cleanup after the download is sent.

Each mode has its own direct landing page for SEO: PDF compression, PDF merging, PDF splitting, page extraction, PDF rotation, metadata cleanup, PDF to Word, and Word to PDF. The interface stays unified instead of duplicating separate tools by hand.
