Keyboard Layout Fixer
Paste text typed with the wrong keyboard layout. The result updates instantly.
When it helps
If Russian text was typed with the English layout, or English text was typed with the Russian layout, the tool remaps characters by QWERTY/JCUKEN keys. Everything runs locally in your browser.
The keyboard layout fixer is useful for messages, commands, notes, and search queries accidentally typed with the wrong keyboard layout. It supports both directions, English layout to Russian and Russian layout to English, includes an automatic mode, and does not send your text to the server.
How to use it
- Paste text typed in the wrong layout, for example “ghbdtn” or “руддщ”.
- The tool detects the direction itself: Latin becomes Cyrillic and Cyrillic becomes Latin using the standard QWERTY ↔ ЙЦУКЕН key mapping.
- The result appears instantly; copy it with one button.
When it helps
- Messages and passwords: recover a phrase typed without noticing the language switch.
- Terminal commands: turn “сщтащ” back into “config” without retyping.
- Search queries and logs: read what a user meant when analytics shows “rfr ghjqnb”.
Frequently asked questions
Does it work for languages other than Russian and English?
The tool is built for the QWERTY ↔ ЙЦУКЕН pair. Ukrainian, Belarusian and other layouts differ in a few keys.
What happens to punctuation?
It is mapped by key as well: “б” corresponds to a comma and “ю” to a full stop, so the whole text is restored including punctuation.
Is the text sent to a server?
No, the substitution runs entirely in your browser.
