- The phenomenon of online platforms and other digital services gradually degrading the quality of their services, often by promoting advertisements, recurring payments, and sponsored content, in order to increase profits.

From crap + -ification (“becoming crappy”), used as a less vulgar form of enshittification. Usage goes back to at least 1996, with a Kyle Baker cartoon in New York, in reference to degrading quality of consumer electronics.
