Why is there no EXIF in a photo from a messenger?
WhatsApp, Telegram and social networks recompress images and strip metadata. Full tags exist only in the original from the camera or phone.
How do I remove EXIF from a photo?
Use the Image Tools utility on this site: exporting through canvas clears all metadata, including GPS.
Is the file uploaded to a server?
No, metadata is read in the browser. It is safe even for personal photos.
