Word forms

shtuck schtook schtuck shtook

Etymology

Uncertain. Theories include that it is an alteration of stuck with the sch- sound found in many Yiddish words such as schmaltz or schmuck, or that it derives from Yiddish שטיק (shtik) or German Stück (“piece”), as in Stück Dreck (“piece of dirt”) or שטיק דרעק (shtik drek, “piece of shit”).
