Borrowed from Serbo-Croatian sevdalinka, a compound of Ottoman Turkish سودالی (sevdalı, “lover”) + -inka, the first element deriving from Arabic سَوْدَاء (sawdāʔ, “black [bile]; melancholy”) + Ottoman Turkish ـلی (-lı).
