Etymology

From Middle English premunire facias, premunire fac', from Latin praemunire facias (“that you cause to be forewarned”) from the opening words of the writ: praemūnīre (“you fortify (defend in advance)”) (an error for praemonēre (“you forewarn”)) + faciās (“you make”).
