Etymology

From Danish filematologi, from Ancient Greek φῐ́λημᾰ (phĭ́lēmă, “a kiss”) + ologi (equivalent to English -ology), but compare the New Latin philēmatologiā, which appears written in Greek as φιληματολογία in the title of a 1659 book.
