Etymology

Borrowed from Scottish Gaelic Mungo. This was the nickname of Kentigern, better known as Saint Mungo, the founder and patron saint of Glasgow, and possibly comes from the Cumbric equivalent of the Welsh: fy nghu 'my dear (one)'.
