From Byzantine Greek μηνολόγιον (mēnológion), from Ancient Greek μήν (mḗn, “month”) + -ο- (-o-, “-o-”) + λόγιον (lógion, “writing, record, announcement”), from λόγος (lógos, “writing, recording”) + -ιον (-ion, “-ion: forming related nouns”).
