Borrowed from Japanese 迦具土 (かぐつち, Kagutsuchi), originally a compound of かぐ (kagu, obsolete verb root meaning “to shine, to sparkle”) + つ (tsu, Old Japanese possessive particle) + ち (chi, “power, life force”).
