2. A favored girl, held in high esteem by others, and for whom there are high hopes.
3. A young woman who is beautiful in a wholesome and healthy way.
4. An older woman, a female senior citizen.

Etymology

The senior citizen sense was inspired by a TV show in the 1980s, The Golden Girls, about a group of friends. The show's title was inspired by the traditional senses of the term but seems also to have been a play on golden years and silver-haired.
