Word forms

exodia

Etymology

Most likely from Exodus + -ia. There is no evident connection between the sense of the components and Exodia himself. The early 2000s German translation of the card name "Exodia the forbidden one" indicates that the translators mistook Exodia as feminine ("Exodia, die Verbotene") because of the evidently feminine ending, while in the Spanish translation "Exodia el prohibido" the creature's gender was correctly rendered.
