< French dromologie < Ancient Greek δρόμος (drómos, “race, running, racetrack, course, path”) + λόγος (lógos, “account, explanation, narrative”); term coined by the French philosopher Paul Virilio to discuss the importance of speed in warfare and communication. Equivalent to dromo- + -logy.
