Borrowed from Caribbean Hindustani dugalaa (“many, much, a mix”), from Hindi दोग़ला (doġlā, “mixed blood, crossbreed, mixed breed, mixed race, illegitimate, hybrid, half-caste”), corrupted from Classical Persian داغول (dāġūl, “illegitimate child, trickster, cheat”).
