From dirty (“out of tune”) + earbud (“a small earphone designed to be placed in the ear canal for use with portable sound systems”). Popularised by the videos of Australian tech YouTuber, drummer and audiophile Wade "DankPods" Nixon since the late 2010s and early 2020s.
