- A checkmate pattern in which two bishops on criss-crossing diagonals deliver mate while the king is boxed in from the other side, usually by friendly pieces.

Named after Samuel Boden, who won a game in 1853 in London against unnamed strong German amateur player R. Schulder in a spectacular fashion with this pattern following a queen sacrifice.
