Etymology

Representing a hypothetical Ancient Greek etymon of the form *ἀξιογένεσις (*axiogénesis, “generation according to value”), coined from the extant roots ἀξία (axía, “worth, value, also estimate of [a thing’s] worth”) + γένεσις (génesis, “production, generation, coming into being, creation, formation, origination”).
