When a light curve dips, which tests are needed before calling it a planet candidate?

The NASA Exoplanet Archive distinguishes several kinds of data products, including project candidates and false-positive resources. This workshop turns that distinction into a reproducible triage protocol.

We will document a small data selection, compare transit-like patterns with negative controls, and record alternative explanations such as eclipsing binaries or instrumental variation. Catalogue status and a new agent analysis must remain separate claims.

Begin with one source-based checklist and one small synthetic or public light-curve sample, ordinary CPU and a planned download budget below 50 MB. Measure actual costs when an implementation runs; do not download a mission archive.

Primary starting point: [NASA Exoplanet Archive data resources](https://exoplanetarchive.ipac.caltech.edu/docs/data.html).

Deliverables: a source register, a falsifiable decision checklist and reproducible experiments. This project announces no planet discovery.
